Greg Wilson

With a DJ pedigree stretching back to the original disco era, Greg Wilson first came to national prominence in the early 1980’s as the first to champion New York’s emerging Electro-Funk sound. As the importance of Electro-Funk’s musical legacy has become increasingly apparent, more attention than ever is being focussed on the crucial 1982-84 period, which apparently shaped so much of what followed. Greg is once again acting as an ambassador for Electro-Funk. However, despite a handful of one-off appearances in the 1990’s, he has resisted any ideas of a ‘DJ comeback’… until now!

Taking nothing for granted, Greg Wilson is once again utilising new music and new technology in unique juxtaposition with the old. In 2004, armed with a laptop, turntables and, of course, his trusty Revox B77 reel-to-reel, Greg’s alchemic mixing and customised re-edits takes the whole club DJ experience two steps beyond.

Stu Allan

1982 takes up Djing

1984 - '86 gets featured mixes / remixes on Piccadilly Radio, Manchester on various shows inc. Timmy Mallet, Chris Evans, Tim Grundy etc

July 1986 Stu gets his own show on Piccadilly. Initially to sit-in for the regular presenter for 6 weeks but the reaction was so good from the listeners that the regular presenter was finished and Stu took over the slot permanently. What was a laid-back soul show, Stu was featuring Hip Hop and a brand new style of music called House. " Love Can't Turn Around" by Farley Jackmaster Funk was the first record Stu played on the radio and was pulled in to the boss' office and was asked to explain "what the hell are you playing at?!". Believing that this was listeners really wanted to hear (having seen clubbers going wild to tunes like "Jack Your Body", "Jack The Groove" and many other underground Chicago label tunes at Stu's gigs) he finally convinced the radio bosses that his choice of music was right when the listening figures started piling in and has had a completely free reign with the musical content of his shows right up to the present day and has been totally self-produced without an ounce of help from anyone.

1999 - 2000 Kiss 100 approached him to mix & produce the now legendary "Kiss Mix" (Mon-Sat evenings) which became the most listened to shows on at that time in London for 14 - 24 year olds.

Elliot Eastwick

Starting out as a glass collector in 1991 at Manchester’s infamous Hacienda club, Elliot spent his first year of employment haranguing the clubs bosses to let him play his shoddy record collection, they eventually agreed and he found himself playing the main room at ‘Tuesday night fever’ supporting bands such as Rose Royce and Sister Sledge and downstairs on Saturday nights, inspired mainly by the Djing skills of Mike Pickering he forged ahead with a sound based around the model of the original Chicago house sounds, other residencies followed included ‘Yellow’ at the Manchester Boardwalk alongside journalist Dave Haslam.
The Djing continued and led to Elliot opening a club in 1994 called ‘Hard Times’ the club was voted club of the year by Mixmag magazine, and attracted over 1500 people every Saturday night to hear Eastwick spinning alongside guests such as Todd Terry, Frankie Knuckles, Danny Tenaglia and Francois Kervorkian. Hard Times ran until 1998 when Elliot left and took up residencies at Gatecrasher, The End, and various clubs around Europe.
With the British ‘deep house’ scene taking off, and Elliot at the forefront, he found himself playing in locations as varied and exotic as South Africa, Serbia, New Zealand, USA, Moscow, Chile and Hull, and continues to visit these places today, showcasing his ever increasing record collection.
